Unemployed youths in Kwara and Kogi States have benefitted from an agricultural value-chain training and empowerment programme, held at the Agricultural and Rural Management Training (ARMTI), Ilorin, Kwara State.
Sponsored by a federal lawmaker, representing Okenne/Ogori Magongo Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Tijani Danisa, the training was targeted at reducing the unemployment rate.
A consultant in the training firm, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim, said the training, which was in its sixth edition, has catered for over a thousand beneficiaries.
Also speaking, Executive Director of the ARMTI, Dr. Olufemi Oladunni, said the programme was capable of empowering young graduates to be employers of labor, while he discouraged pursuit of salary appointment.
