420 Abia Farmers Benefit From FG’s Credit Facilities

He disclosed his readiness to engage his constituents, particularly the youth in the agriculture sector as well as encourage them to pursue agriculture-based educational careers.
Over 420 farmers in Umuahia North Local Government Area have received credit facilities ranging from N200, 000.00 to N300, 000.00 from the Anchor Borrowers Programme of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for sustainable production.

Facilitator of the programme, Barr Mike Obi-Okezie, stated this yesterday while speaking to journalists in Umuahia, the Abia State capital. He urged the youths in the state to key into the programme.

The candidate of the Young Peoples Party (YPP) for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency at the National Assembly in the forthcoming general election decried the state of agriculture in the state.

“If elected,’’ he maintained, “I will replicate the effort across the constituency, which is made up of Umuahia South, Umuahia North, and Ikwuano Local Government Areas.”

He disclosed his readiness to engage his constituents, particularly the youth in the agriculture sector as well as encourage them to pursue agriculture-based educational careers.

He disclosed that the results of the general election will be remarkable in the sense that the electorate are quite disgusted with the old trajectory and want a new direction. ‘‘I don’t think people will want to continue with the old order of recycling old, analogue, and tired politicians, who are not minded to advance the interest of the commoners,’’ he noted.

Explaining that his party will spring surprises at the poll, he added that “It will not be easy for money-bags and desperate politicians to bribe both the voters and the electorate at the polling units”.
